Welcome to the South Florida Model Sailing Club Website!
Club Mission Statement
The South Florida Model Sailing Club (SFMSC) is dedicated to fostering the art of RC sailing in South Florida. The club strives to create a welcoming environment to individuals of all ages and experience levels where everyone can enjoy this challenging, competitive and fun sport. Based on the principals of the “3 C’s”, Communication, Compromise and Compassion, the SFMSC is committed to providing fun yet competitive RC sailing for everyone.
On April 1, 2009 a group of model sailboat enthusiasts met for the first time at CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines, Florida. After an afternoon of sailing fun it was decided that this group was ready to officially form the South Florida Model Sailing Club. Our Commodore had been looking for a suitable sailing venue and came upon CB Smith Park on Flamingo Road in Pembroke Pines. Luckily, this beautiful park was receptive to this type of activity and welcomed the club with open arms.
Sailing Schedule
We sail on Sunday from 11.00am until 3:00PM, or later if needed. We also sail on Wednesday from 11:00AM till 2:00PM or later. Check the Calendar of Events page for the latest updates. With permanent buoys anyone can come to the park anytime the park is open to practice sailing their boats.
The boats currently being sailed by the club are the DF65 and DF95, however, if you have (or are interested in owning) any kind of R/C sailboat you are welcome to come out on Sunday or Wednesday and meet and sail with our club.
With ideal weather conditions year-round, South Florida is a wonderful location for a club such as ours. You are invited to come on out and have some fun and camaraderie with your fellow skippers.
